LONDON
Heya and a big hi from London! Heheheh - Im here!
I arrived Thursday nite and am finally recoverin from the jet lag and just from the last couple of months I guess! It's been so hard to keep my eyes open after 6pm!!! but Ive managed not to have nana naps the last two days! Sun nite I went Salsa dancing which helped!
My first morn here was grey and looked dreary as but a little squirrel smiled at me from out my window and made me realise evrything was gona be okay. We had a sunny weekend which was glorious but it is freezing!
After walking aimlessly for an hour or so, I ended up at Dahleen's work, had coffee then caught a bus to town and had a blast!
I saw the horse guards, huge old buildings, came face to face with Big Ben (I actually had no idea where I was at this point but everything looked cool and old and huge so i had just kept walking - again). I then saw Westminster Abby - will go look inside another day- and then got a call from another agency where we set up a meeting for tomorrow - they said they had a few jobs that might suit me which would be cool. I then walked back up the street only to see the horsemen move and a handful of soldiers march out for inspection - very surreal - but very cool. The sun was getting lower (4pm!!!!) so I begun my journey up this street - one that I had stumbled upon and I think it was parliment square? and there were gates with security and policeman everywhere, followed by escorted cars leave secret looking gated roads. I guess when i read my London books /maps later I will discover exactly where I have been! Hehehehehe. Oh, I then looked up to see Trafalgar Square (yes Miss, I cant spell Miss, and Im trying to go fast so Im not gona check Miss,.. hehehehe). Giant sculptures and fountains galore and .... pigeons!!! A kind man gave me some seed and I became... Bird Woman!!! Covered from head to toe!!!! Hehehehe... At this point I was kindly interrupted by a call from Dodgy! Yay! She#'s comin to London on Sat and it will be great to catch up with her again.
Well Id beta run..

IN BETWEEN...
It's cold here in London but have had two beautiful clear days (29/01/06). I awoke yesterday to see a suirrel out my window, walked down the street giggling as I heard people speak in funny accents and smiled as I saw all the double decker red buses and red phone boxes. It still seems bizarre that I'm actually here.
Thailand was sensational - so going back for longer on my way home to NZ - whenever that may be. I saw the floating markets, a crocodile show, held a cobra, patted a python, rode an elephant, shopped til I dropped (although I had no extra room in my pack) and had two massages!!! All in three days!
Oh, I also saw a real elephant walking don the highway in the centre of Bangkok at 2am!!! No lies! And for only 10bart I got to feed him sugar cane and have a cuddle- as much as you can with an elephant with a wondering trunk! (Guess he was vry hungry - probably had walked a loooooong way!).
Well better run.
